I knew I would have to purchase some wedding dresses to photograph which was fine and I made sure I had budgeted for it before I started the project.  However, first of all I had to do some research on what styles and materials would be on trend for Spring/Summer 2017.

I already knew that silk, lace and linen would be big hits, but I needed to see those materials in different styles of dresses.  The images on my moodboard above show the popular styles.  Many of them did not have much shape and were quite simple.

Heavy embellishment with sparkling sequins were added to dress to give them extra detail.  They are sleek and elegant with a touch of class.  3D bloom is also very popular for this season with layers of lace making up the body of the dress.  The style of dresses are kept simple but with all this embroidery and decoration they became beautiful and interesting.

Now I knew what would be on trend, I decided I would look for some dresses that have the 3D element and lots of floral lace.  I also wanted a dress with some sequins and jewels, this would add a bit of texture.  I have a budget for around £400 and I knew Asos have just launched a bridal section.  Knowing that I am able to get student discount and qualify for next day delivery, I looked on their website straight away and fell in love with three dresses.
