I went into a shop called tiger which has loads of fun still life objects. I picked up a few things that could fit into The Weddingforecaster.
As I have noticed a lot of bright colourful themes running through trend forecasting websites. Fun Caribbean culture has been popular throughout so when I saw these decorations I had to pick them up.
Although the colours are a bit pastel they're still unique compared to the usual pastel pretty pinks.
I did a test shoot with the hanging decorations, which went ok. I should've asked someone to help by hold the lanterns for me to photograph. I made a holder with some duck tape and a photography clamp.
As this was a test shoot, I was mainly seeing how the colour of the lanterns came out on camera and how I could play around with the shadows. I have planned a shoot for the 11/03/16 for the final images of the lanterns. I have organised for someone to help me so I can do the photography. Here are the images from the test shoot..
The image above and below are my favourite out of the three in terms of the positioning. The shadowing behind the lanterns is ok, however in the below image you can see the pole they are having off. This is something that wouldn't be seen in the final images, as my assistant will be holding the string. I shot the images in Raw so I could play around with the settings after. I changed the Vibrance and the Saturation in the second image as brighter colours will be trending next Summer.
The third image is my least favourite and the only thing I like is the positioning. I still included this image in the blog as it is important to show how I improve my skills from test shots to final images. Learning from mistakes the first time an refining the quality to achieve strong images.
